How it Began
In 1950, brothers Charles and Byron Benton founded ABC Bail Bonds during Houston’s golden age. At the time, ABC was one of the only bond services in the city, allowing them to grow a reputation as being trustworthy and experienced. Once the Benton brothers decided to retire in 1995, they handed the company over to David Schmidt. Schmidt’s long residency in Houston and his family history in the bail bond industry made him the perfect fit to carry on the Benton brothers’ legacy. Schmidt continues to handle the company with a family mindset, valuing the freedom of every client that comes into ABC’s services.

The family philosophy of the Bentons and Schmidt also carries over into the staff at ABC Bail Bonds.
